Ready for Spring?
At this point, we're not sure that Spring is even ready for Spring. After a weekend of fair temperature, albeit very windy, Scout camping, we unloaded the gear amidst Spring storms, and woke up the next morning to yet another snow.
These things happen. The CTC system is of course ready, and will adapt to the changing environment before it becomes an issue. The CTC system operator should be ready as well.
Certainly by now, the furnace sections of packaged units, boilers, and other sources of building heat have been in operation for some time and are likely operating correctly. However during this time of the year, heat will run in the mornings and will be followed by a demand for cooling by mid-day. This usually means economizer cooling. Are the economizers ready for action? The economizers should be tested with the designated happy-box prior to their need. Correcting any issues ahead of time will save you a lot of time. The Computerized Temperature Control system is in place to intelligently operate the building, but it is also there to assist you. If you have a laptop or a smartphone, you can access the computer from right there at the unit.
Remember to use the global settings section of the CTC system to enable economizers at appropriate temperatures, and reduce or eliminate trouble calls before they start. This after all, is one of the main ideas of the CTC system. As always, Don't be afraid to call us if something you are looking at doesn't make sense. This is what we do. This is ALL we do.
So use the tools available to you, and feel free to call us, if not just to say Hello.
Have a great Spring.
